BSNL JTO 2026 Answer Key and Rank Calculator
BSNL conducted the Junior Telecom Officer (JTO) Telecom examination on 23 August 2026 for 100 vacancies. The provisional answer key and candidate response sheets were released on 29 August 2026.
If you appeared for the examination, paste your BSNL JTO response sheet URL into the Rankoogle calculator above. It will calculate your exact score using the official +4 and −1 marking scheme and show your section-wise performance, total marks and estimated category rank.
Your CBT score is the main factor used for preparing the merit list. There is no interview stage where you can improve your position later. This makes it important to calculate your marks accurately instead of relying on the number of questions you attempted.
BSNL JTO 2026 Exam Pattern
The BSNL JTO Computer Based Test was conducted for 180 minutes. It contained three sections with 120 questions carrying a total of 480 marks.
| SectionSubjectQuestionsMaximum Marks | |||
| Section I | Engineering Stream I | 50 | 200 |
| Section II | Engineering Stream II | 50 | 200 |
| Section III | General Ability Test | 20 | 80 |
| Total | 120 | 480 |
The first two sections tested engineering and telecom-related knowledge. Section III covered general ability topics. Since Sections I and II together carried 400 marks, technical performance has the biggest effect on your final score and rank.
Marking Scheme Used in the Calculator
The BSNL JTO Rank Calculator applies the following marking scheme:
- +4 marks for every correct answer
- −1 mark for every wrong answer
- 0 marks for an unattempted question
For example, if you answered 85 questions correctly and 25 incorrectly, your score would be:
(85 × 4) − (25 × 1) = 315 marks
You do not need to calculate correct and incorrect responses manually. Rankoogle reads the response sheet and applies the marking scheme automatically.
BSNL JTO Category-Wise Qualifying Marks
Candidates must clear the minimum qualifying marks in every section as well as the overall qualifying percentage.
| CategoryMinimum in Each SectionMinimum Overall | ||
| UR / OBC Creamy Layer | 40% | 50% |
| SC / ST / OBC Non-Creamy Layer / PwBD / EWS | 35% | 45% |
Based on the section marks, the minimum qualifying score works out as follows:
| CategorySection ISection IISection IIIOverall | ||||
| UR / OBC Creamy Layer | 80/200 | 80/200 | 32/80 | 240/480 |
| SC / ST / OBC NCL / PwBD / EWS | 70/200 | 70/200 | 28/80 | 216/480 |
Clearing the overall score alone is not enough. If you fail to secure the required marks in even one section, you may not be considered for the merit list.
These are only minimum qualifying marks. The final selection cut-off may be higher depending on the category, circle preferences, number of candidates and overall examination performance.
